The Vardåsen design builds on decades of Dale of Norway craftsmanship. Drawing from our extensive archive, it incorporates distinctive details from the iconic Peace sweater, classic lice patterns, and the signature eight-petal rose – a symbol that has defined Norwegian knitwear for generations. These historic elements have been thoughtfully reinterpreted to create a seamless dialogue between past and present, reflecting Dale of Norway’s enduring commitment to quality, tradition, and timeless Norwegian design.
Vardåsen is a ski resort in Asker, just a 30-minute drive from downtown Oslo. Its name originates from the signal beacons (“varde”) that Vikings once placed on mountaintops and high ridges as an early warning system. These beacons were visible from peak to peak – and when danger approached, fires were lit to spread the alarm across the land.
